What is Gumboot?
"The gumboot act is about the enslaved, Africans who couldn't use drums to communicate so they used their boots. The gumboot act is so much fun to do and it helps people to understand what some Africans had to go through."

"It was hard to learn gumboot, but then I got the hang of it."
"It was fun, sometimes funny, and confusing. For me it was hard to learn."

What do you like about it?
"I actually love it even though it is a little bit confusing."
Is it easy to teach to others?
"I liked the acting that we did in the beginning. I liked the gumboot act, but I don't think I am ready to teach it to others."
Are you excited about performing for our showcase?
"I think I am, I am going to be confident."
"I am excited to perform, but nervous."
Do you think the audience will enjoy this act when we perform it in the show?
"Yes, because they will learn what our ancestors went through."
"I think the audience is going to love the act!"
"They will enjoy it because it is so good!"
